The 2015 VALERIE annual meeting was held at the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust’s Allerton Farm Visitor centre, Loddington, UK on the 27th and 28th January. This followed a meeting of VALERIE case study leaders held on the 26 January held at Oakham, UK and organised by the University of Gloucestershire.

The two day annual meeting brought together VALERIE partners to discuss progress to date, communication and upcoming tasks and milestones. The focus of the first half of 2015 would be on collecting key fact sheets and other literature on VALERIE themes and developing the ‘structured vocabulary’ to describe how different terms (within VALERIE themes) relate to each other. A programme for the VALERIE case studies was also agreed.

A fascinating tour of Allerton Farm followed an informative presentation by the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust, which highlighted several research projects and their practical application in the field. The next VALERIE annual meeting will be held in Turin, Italy on 27-29th January 2016.
